But Ben’s outlook brightens after his father agrees to let him travel to North Wales, to visit the homeland of his deceased mother and connect with his Welsh cousins he'd never met. While cycling in the forest with his cousin, Brigit, Ben crashes into a hidden otherworld, Ethroe, which has been parallel to Earth since ancient times. Trying to return to his world, Ben finds himself swept onto a path of magical adventure, peril and unexpected friendships in a world filled with magical jinn, immortal humans, surly trolls, ancient mythical creatures and a whole valley full of dragons. Including one colorful young dragon with whom Ben forms a fast and enduring bond.
Picked up by Jasper, an elf scout who saw him fly through the hidden portal, Ben plans to ask the Elf Queen for help in returning home to Earth.
But it seems the elves, themselves, are in crisis mode - with no time for outside distractions. A wicked horde of demons has infiltrated their Realm, sent by the evil wizard Maldarmax, who seeks to destroy the world that banished him to Earth long ago. Ben must assemble all the wit he possesses and team up with the elves, his cousin Brigit - (who followed Ben into Ethroe) - and two amazing dragons - as they attempt to combat the dire threat to this parallel otherworld.
If the elves' world falls . . . Ben's world could be next.
